DELL X (RED


Dell partners with (PRODUCT) RED to release special editions of the XPS M1530, M1330, and XPS One, with a seal of approval from U2’s Bono

AUSTIN DESIGNS


The Austin Museum of Art exhibits the design process of the Dell XPS M2010

ACCESS GRANTED


The AMD Personal Internet Communicator is a part of the Design for the Other 90% exhibition

HOT OFF THE PRESS


“M3: It’s About the Product” headlines the Austin American-Statesman’s Tech section

2005

MANIFEST DESTINY


The studio expands to 17,000 sq. ft

2004

MAYBE I’M AMAZED


The hip-e node is included in the list of TIME Magazine’s “The Most Amazing Inventions of 2004

2002

UP TO 11


M3 Design wins its first design award for the Dell ADA995 speaker system, and hosts its first open house in conjunction with IDSA and SXSW

2001

WELCOME HOME


After breaking ground earlier in the year, M3 moves into a new, company-owned 16,200 sq. ft. studio in Round Rock

PATENTS


The first two M3-associated patents are issued. One is for Micron Electronics, the other is for Dell

2000

BUSINESS TIME


M3 Design rebrands itself with a new logo

1999

WORD ON THE STREET


M3’s first products begin to hit the market. The office is relocated to a 5500 sq. ft. studio to accommodate the continued growth

1998

INDEPENDENCE DAY


The partnership with MI Inc. is dissolved, and MI3D becomes M3 Design Inc.

1997

ONE GIANT LEAP


MI3D outgrows the one room office and moves into a 1000 sq. ft. studio. Dell and Rastergraphics become clients

1996

WE HAVE LIFT OFF


Terry Branson partners with MI Inc. to form MI3D. Launched from a single office within MI, Terry begins working with Siemens, Thermoquest-Finnigan, and Plasmon.

ONE SMALL STEP


After operating as the President and only employee for four months, Terry hires his first two employees
