Thriving on Solving Problems
A course catalog at a major university stated “Washing Machine to Space Shuttle” as the range of projects an engineer might have the opportunity to work on. The implication is that having the skills to tackle any challenge is more important than the specific problem at hand. Engineers thrive on problem-solving . Using knowledge and experience gained on one design to solve a problem on a completely different design is how we constantly improve ourselves.
At M3 Design, our engineers enjoy working on a wide array of diverse products and the varying challenges that they offer. Whether it’s controlling droplets of ink to microscopic precision, reducing product manufacturing costs, developing best in class surgical instruments, or eliminating vibration in a densely packed hard drive array, engineers at M3 Design thrive on creating daring solutions to challenging problems.
Expertise
M3 has a wide range of capabilities including: Mechanical, Biomechanical, and Mechatronics engineering. Our engineers have expertise in areas including system product architecture, engineering analysis, testing, qualification and manufacturing. We work closely with our electrical design, software design, design research and industrial design teams to take concepts and turn them into producible products.
We constantly improve our capabilities through continuing education and we have the latest tools at our disposal.
Prototyping
One of the most effective ways to reduce development cost and improve quality is through prototyping. Prototyping allows us to test our ideas out and solve problems early in the design process, which saves time and money. M3 Design has on-site prototyping capabilities and has relationships with a number of rapid prototyping companies.
Deconstruction
One of the best ways to get ideas and gain design insight is to see how others have solved difficult problems. At M3 Design our engineers have disassembled everything from hard disk drives to blenders to see how others have solved these problems. These “de-constructions” are photographed and cataloged for future reference.
Passion
Our driving passion is to take our customers’ ideas and turn them into breakthrough products. We are successful when our customers are successful. For that reason, M3 Design values each and every customer no matter what the challenge.
