Mechanical Engineering at M3 is ...

Someone who helps identify, prototype, and implement successful products and experiences for our clients and their customers.  You are a creative problem solver and will design and evaluate concepts through prototyping, 3D CAD modeling, and engineering analysis.  You will transition a concept into a production design and integrate production feedback into the final product documentation.  You have a natural ability to solve problems and have excellent interpersonal skills.

What You’ll Do

As a Mechanical Engineer(ing), you will support projects to create products informed by research and our stakeholder centered design process. You will work closely with M3’s Design and Engineering teams to develop products across the lifestyle, healthcare and workplace industries.  You will support the project team in the design, detailed development, engineering analysis, prototyping, and technical documentation.  Above all, you’ll create products of the future for our world-class clients alongside a creative and driven M3 Design team.

Skills you will need

You are highly skilled in mechanical design activities: CAD (Creo or Solidworks ), design for manufacturability for a range of manufacturing processes (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), prototyping, testing, engineering analyses, and technical documentation.  You have a high proficiency in analytical tools including FEA, custom spreadsheets, MATLAB, MathCAD, and similar tools  You have developed products and have managed prototype builds to meet deadlines. You have excellent writing and presentation skills.

Experience / Education required:

You have at least a bachelor’s degree, MSME preferred, in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited University. You have 5+ years’ experience in product development, including manufacturing transition, for products in the lifestyle, healthcare and workplace spaces.  You have worked on precision mechanisms, mechatronics, or complex electro-mechanical systems.  Around 10% travel may be required.

  1. Excellent written and verbal communications. Experience presenting technical information in small group settings is essential.
  2. Proficient in design for manufacturing and the ability to manage bill of materials and oversee prototype builds.
  3. Hands-on experience with designing, making, and building prototypes or test fixtures in laboratory and light-manufacturing environments.
  4. Experience integrating and programming Arduino’s, Raspberry Pi, or LabView is a plus.
